POSITION OVERVIEW

 

The major responsibility of a 5th-grade Science Teacher is to establish lesson plans and teach a variety of subjects including language arts, social studies, mathematics, and science. 

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Instruct students using a variety of effective teaching strategies such as gradual release, scaffolding, differentiation, and small group instruction.
• Assess students' progress using daily formative assessments, weekly/bi-weekly summative assessments, and quarterly benchmarks.
• Use assessment data to provide real-time feedback during classroom instruction.
• Follow and implement the school-wide behavior plan.
• Communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students, parents, staff members, and other stakeholders.
• Must be able to deliver instruction that is impactful and increases student achievement.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and work collaboratively on a team.

Teacher Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree

• Must have a valid NC teaching license.
