Job Summary:
The Middle School CTE Teacher in Entrepreneurship will be responsible for developing and delivering entrepreneurship curriculum that introduces students in grades 5 through 8 the principles of business, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial thinking. The teacher will inspire and equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to explore business opportunities, develop business plans, and understand the impact of entrepreneurship in various industries. The role requires a dynamic educator who can foster an innovative and collaborative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development and Instruction:
- Implement an engaging and relevant entrepreneurship curriculum aligned with state standards, subsequent high school courses and overall school goals.
- Teach students about the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, including business planning, marketing, finance, management, and innovation.
- Provide hands-on learning experiences, including project-based learning, simulations, and real-world business challenges.
- Incorporate technology and digital tools to enhance instruction and provide students with a modern understanding of business practices.
- Student Engagement and Support:
- Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through entrepreneurial projects and activities.
- Support students in developing their own business ideas, guiding them through the process of creating and pitching business plans.
- Offer individualized support and mentorship to help students explore their interests in entrepreneurship and related fields.
- Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate entrepreneurship concepts across the curriculum and participate in interdisciplinary projects.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in CTE and entrepreneurship education.
- Engage with local businesses, entrepreneurs, and community organizations to provide students with exposure to real-world business environments.
- Participate in planning and coaching sessions with your curriculum leader.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and upcoming art events.
- Extracurricular and Community Engagement:
- Organize and oversee extracurricular activities related to entrepreneurship, such as business clubs, competitions, and school-wide projects.
- Foster partnerships with local businesses and entrepreneurs to enhance students' learning experiences and provide mentorship opportunities.
- Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and other community outreach activities.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, or a related field.
- State teaching certification in CTE, Business Education, or a related area (preferred).
- Experience:
- Previous experience teaching entrepreneurship, business, or a related subject at the middle or high school level (preferred).
- Experience in the business world or as an entrepreneur is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Proficiency with educational technology and business-related software.
- Ability to secure and manage resources effectively to create a full CTE experience utilizing available resources and creatively seeking external donations when resources are not available.

Work Environment:
- Full-time position within a supportive and innovative educational community.
- SCCS does not have a dedicated CTE room at this time so the art teacher will push into teachers' classrooms for CTE classes..
